68 Wellington Street

Age circa 1878, registered as condos 2009

12 units

Loft condos in downtown Stratford. This is the shopping and restaurant district. It’s also an area of the city steeped in history. A plaque in nearby Allen’s Alley on the west side of Wellington reads “Originally a passage to the livery stables behind the Wellington Street Hotel”. Many of the shops along this street have upper level apartments.

The building has controlled entry, forced air gas heat and central air. Some units have fourteen-foot ceilings, plank flooring, abundant windows, some skylights, an old staircase, exposed brick walls and some exposed ductwork. This is an old building. Unit sizes are mainly in the 562 to 691 square foot range. When marketed for sale, the remarks sometimes read, “these condos are something right out of Greenwich Village or Soho in New York”.

Some owners have used their units as rental properties.
